Why did the Dressage Task Force left this stone unturned
Sometimes I sit together with people who have been around the block in business, sport etc...

Last week we were talking about the judging of dressage. A good friend of mine, who is a very good listener and is blessed with a highly developed analytic brain said.

Judges have to create their own independent organisation <period>

The more I think about it the more I know that this might be the egg of Columbus.

:o

That really is a fantastic idea and so obvious. In my professional experiences, improvements, changes, growth should be initiated from within a group.

Maybe a topic of discussion for the next global dressage forum?

NO there isn't and YES there is.
Many moons ago Mariette Withages started the IDJC but it seems that it has died already after some months of existence.

But what I mean to say is that it would solve manyyyyyyyyyyyy problems when judges have their own global organisation which is totally independent from the FEI or NF's.

I have the BluePrint of how this should/could work and it looks very promising.

In a sport where we are talking about bigggggg money, judges should consider that they play a major role. They can make or break a rider and/or horse. Judges should be professionals, independed from show organizers, national and international federations. And.... last but not least well paid for their services.

It's obvious that 90% of the judges these days left the old dusty rules and regulations of classical dressage.
I for myself don't blame the judges for that, I blame the people and organizations who/which are to slow to keep up with the new developments in dressage, breeding and riding.

Most of today's rules are still based on the military way of riding (and judging) horses manyyyyyyyyy moons ago.
With the appearance of Totilas we have seen that the media and public are on the same line as the judges.

Starting with Edward Gal and Lingh we see more combinations that brings dressage closer to the big public. Their way of riding, their interpretation of the freestyle to music opened a whole new era of attracting people to dressage-shows.

Yes it toke many decades before people accepted that the world wasn't flat.

Has there been any update on the idea of judges having their own organization?

I was hoping this was discussed at Aachen...
